# How to find the build number

# Find the build number of EarMaster

 Every update of EarMaster has what we call a "*build number*". This build number helps us identify exactly which version of EarMaster is installed on your computer.

 **EarMaster 7**: Start EarMaster and look at the top of the EarMaster Window. The build number looks like this: *7.x.xx*

 **EarMaster 2 to 6**: Start EarMaster, go to the *Help* menu at the top right of the window and click on "*About EarMaster...*". The build number will be displayed in the first line of the EarMaster splash screen. It consists of 3 digits and 2 or 3 letters.
