Re: 9th Chord Inversion Error
Thank you for the detailed report. You are right, this is a bug. The chord name matches your settings, but the notes on the staff does not. It happens only with chords that goes beyond an octave, i.e. 9, 11 and 13 chords. Congratulations, you found a bug that has survived in EarMaster for 10 years! :D

Re: Students unable to change tempo settings for sight-playing rhythm exercises
Until this issue is fixed, you can still change the tempo in the exercises. Just make sure it is done AFTER pressing "Record", i.e. while the metronome is counting. As long as you did not make your first clap, EarMaster will wait for you to begin your answer, so there is plenty of time to ...

Re: Melodic singback randomly changes key.
Thank you for posting the images. I have answered about 100 questions with the same lesson and same settings as yours, but have not been able to reproduce it. I used a MIDI keyboard and answered first attempt wrong so it would show the staff. Maybe I do something different from you? We would like to...

Re: how to get rid of some non-sensical rest notation in rhythm sight reading?
Thank you for the screen dump. I investigated this a bit more and found that it can happen when you enable the "Special patterns" in combination with the 16th note rest. We will solve this problem, but until then, please enable only the single 16th note, and not the special patterns with m...

Re: how to get rid of some non-sensical rest notation in rhythm dictation?
It is the same rhythm generator EarMaster uses for all auto-generated exercises, so my answer applies also to sight-reading.

Re: how to get rid of some non-sensical rest notation in rhythm dictation?
EarMaster should not generate rhythms with multiple 16th note rests after each other, unless they belong to different beats. When they belong to different beats, they should not be combined as it will reduce the readability. If you see multiple 16th notes within the same beat, please share a screen ...

Re: EM7 - Sight Singing Pitch Recognition
It looks like you are having two different problems at the same time. One problem is that your voice has combination of strong overtones that make it difficult for the pitch recognition to detect the correct tone. That is a rare situation, and the only solution is to try to sing with a more "cl...

Re: vocal range setting affecting all exercises
May I ask what was your reasoning in setting the range of this exercise according to the set vocal range? It is very common practice ear training by singing the tones. This is a great way to work the intervals into your mind and musical ear. That is why the intervals are adapted to your vocal range...

Re: EM7 - Sight Singing Pitch Recognition
It is a bit unclear how your setup is working. The way I understand it, you are playing tones on a keyboards, which is sounding through your monitor speakers. Then you let the microphone catch that sound which is then recorded by EarMaster? Please open the Microphone Wizard in EarMaster and click th...

Re: Midi error
Error code 7 means "Memory Allocation Error", but it usually happens if something else occupies your MIDI input device, so EarMaster cannot open it. Please try to close other programs using Midi input. Eventually it will help to restart your computer, in case an app is hanging (crashed) in...

Re: Linux support
This error ("GetNoteHeadWidth=0") can happen when the musical font that EarMaster uses has not been loaded.
EarMaster installs and uses the truetype fonts "Virtuoso" (Classical) and "EarMasterJazz" (Handwritten).

Re: rhythm reading MIDI input note duration problem....
You are right. This is how it works right now. If you use multiple tones to play the rhythms AND you have the "Evaluate note length" turned on, then you will experience this problem. We will look further into this and see if we can fix it in a future update. Great that you found a workarou...

Re: SQLite 3 error: database is not connected
The new update tries to update the music database with new songs. This happens once on each computer, but if it cannot get write access to the music database, it fails and tries again next time you run the program. The song database is stored in this location on a Mac: /Users/Shared/EarMaster/6.0/Da...
