Re: whether it helps much with melody dictation and identifying chords
Hi there, I am sorry you haven't received any feedback. Our forum is unfortunately not so active between users. I am quite confident that it will help you a lot with melodic dictation and identifying chords. It has helped me a lot. But then again, you are probably seeking an opinion from someone who...

Re: Changing instruments
Hi Adrienne
I think I just answered your email, but I'll answer here too just in case.
You can always change that in tools->preferences and set the primary instrument profile to either Piano or strings.

Re: answering with MIDI
Hi!
I see. What midi device do you use? And how is it plugged into your computer?
Are you on Mac or Windows? Have you tried to restart your computer and try again?

Re: elliott smith minor 3rd
Isn't it more like:
"Drink up" = Unison
"Baby" = Major 2nd
Like it is written in this score: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJheL-N3H7Q
I could be wrong though

Re: Latency issues
Hi, It is the latency setting in the preferences you are referring to? Usually a number as low as 7-8 is too low. I believe the standard setting is 46, which should be around ideal for most computers. You should try to play around with it around that number, since small adjustments to this number in...

Re: Can Earmaster help with bass clef reading
Hi, Good question. There is not an exercise that lets you practice the clefs in relation to each other. But you can change the clef easily inside the exercise, by going to exercise settings->Clef. This means that you can do an exercise, and then change the clef to see how the same question and answe...

Re: Reverb in Earmaster 6
Hi Jon Okay. I see. The latency is not there on the mac version since there shouldn't be any issues with latency there. You may experience latency due to the microphone picking up the sound of the metronome through your speakers. You can try to perhaps use a headset for the exercise and see if that ...

Re: Why do my screen freeze?
Hi Thank you for getting in touch. This is interesting. I don't believe we've heard of the app freezing before. Does it happen at any specific time or place in the app? Or does it just freeze randomly? When you close it with the home button, do you close completely down afterwards before starting ag...

Re: Rhythm exercises
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, that is possible. In the exercise, go to exercise settings and select "evaluate note length". Then you should be good to go for this.

Re: Newbie question
Hi, The drop-down menu is for selecting the regular vocal range standards like Bass, tenor, etc. You can only use edit on the "customized" vocal range, and then you can set your range by dragging the two notes around on the staff. The lowest one should be the lowest note you can sing, and ...
