I'd like to try microphone input again but my 21-day trial period has expired! :-( I did try to tweak the microphone settings in EarMaster, but I still had problems as described. One difficulty for me was some of the terminology used in the wizard, describing the adjustment options... I'm a relative...

The ABRSM exam prep software interests me... will this be part of EarMaster or a separate new software product? Any timeframes for release / beta ? Right now, my son's ABRSM exam prep for violin (grade 3) and recorder (grade 4) are the main drivers for my interest in EarMaster, although I have a per...

Melodic Minor descending

I _do_ like EarMaster and prefer its user interface to at least one alternative software package that is indeed a lot more expensive. However, accuracy is important, as is the trust that a student puts in the software, i.e. is it teaching him/her correctly? In the case of the Melodic Minor key, in a...

OK, so EarMaster is wrong then :--D Could you at least publish a fix to so that EarMaster will inform the user that the software is wrong in the the case of a descending melodic minor scale? e.g. pop up a message or something. It would also be helpful to have a similar health warning in the "sc...

What type of Music do you listen to mostly?

Well, I listen to Jazz mostly, but Classical, Blues and World come a close second, third and fourth. We might see a wider range of musical interests if 1st, 2nd, 3rd votes could be cast. :-)

EarMaster 6?

I have been trying EarMaster 5 on evaluation. I have only a few days to go before I must decide whether to buy it. Although I'm a "home" user I am probably going to get the "School" version, as I like the extra customisation of tutors/lessons that this offers. (for both my own st...

How to input with Microphone.

I have a related question regarding microphone input. I am trying to get EarMaster to recognise notes played on a violin, via a microphone. I find the note recognition is quite erratic. At best it is an octave too high or too low. Other times it is simply the wrong note. :-( I've tried changing the ...

What instrument do you play?

I voted violin 'cos my son is the musician and plays it, plus piano and recorder. I'm learning piano, as well, but it's very early days! ;-)

Melodic Minor descending / ABRSM exam prep

I am a new EarMaster user, using it mainly for my son's education. My question relates to the Melodic Minor scales. I understood that melodic minor scale descends differently from the ascent. In EarMaster the descent seems to be the same. This is what I am expecting: Ascent: 1, 0.5, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0.5 ...
