Thanks for your prompt attention. For the time being, I will use my headphones when using the Mac version of Earmaster. I have Grado SR-80 headphones, which I use to listen to music from my computer (large and ugly to look at, but they sound great!). They were about $100, but they are good, high qua...

Thank you, I have gone ahead and installed it, it seems to be working great. I have had the program on PC for a year (Windows XP) and I must say that the Mac version looks even better than the PC version, visually! I guess Macs just have more visual style than PCs. Everything seems to be working fin...

Volume is too soft on Mac version of Earmaster
I just installed the Mac version of Earmaster. Everything seems to be working just fine, but the volume of the sounds is too soft. I have gone to the "Sound" tab on my computer's "System Preferences" and set the volume as high as it goes. When I play songs from iTunes, they are f...

Question: Any known bugs on Mac version of Earmaster 5?
First off, let me thank you for offering the Mac version as a free bonus to those of us who already bought the PC version. I appreciate the gesture of goodwill and will be sure to recommend Earmaster to all of my musical friends--it is not often you find a great product, backed by great people! I am...

I just noticed that you said these improvements might not be able to be put into Earmaster until Version 6. Does that mean that these improvements CANNOT be added to the Mac version of Earmaster (scheduled to come out by the end of 2008)? I am hoping that these 2 suggestions will be added to the Mac...

Thanks, I did not know what the experts recommend, but now I do! I think it would be very boring to listen to music at half-speed anyway, at that speed it does not even sound musical! I think these software programs would be helpful if you HAD to transcribe a certain piece of music, like if you work...

Two Important Suggestions for Improvement (of Earmaster 5.0)
Hi, I have been using Earmaster 5.0 for about 2 months now, and I really love it. My progress has been slow, but verifiable (I can listen to simple melodies on a CD and play them "by ear"--before I was able to hear these melodies and sing them back vocally, but had a hard time playing them...

Thanks, I have been doing Earmaster about 30 minutes a day, a combination of the Tutor exercises and my Custom exercises. I thought I was just getting mentally tired after 30 minutes because I am not especially talented/gifted at music. But apparently I am not alone! I guess there is no advantage to...

Any opinions on "transcribing" software?
I have just bought Earmaster 5, and am confident that it will improve my ability to hear and identify music (melodies, chords, etc.) I was wondering if anyone had any experience and could give a review of "transcribing" software--typically these programs allow you to sample a section of mu...

What is the optimal amount of Ear training per day/week?
Ear training seems to be as much about "brain training" as it is about the ear. Are there any scientific studies as to the optimal amount of training per day, or per week? When I was in college I knew some music students, and they said they practiced about 4 hours per day! I could not spen...

Thank you for the very rough estimate, that helps my decision. If the Mac version was expected in another 3 months, I would just wait for that. And if the Mac version would not be for another 2-3 years, then I might consider upgrading to a better PC, but the setup I have now should get me through 20...
