Hey Thanks for the response. 1) Movable Do is a great help, but it doesn't quite do what I'm looking for. It doesn't provide progressive difficulty training in recognizing a single tone after the tonal has been established, preferably after a cadence has been played. They must start as easy as possi...

Ideas for future versions
Hi I have been using EarMaster for maybe a little more than a month and I am very pleased with the results. I haven't yet been able to just hear a melody and then transcribe it without an instrument, like I thought I would, but I have become far more proficient at improvising and making new melodies...

OK Anyway, there's one little thing I'd like to say. When you practise chord recognition and have chosen solfege relative, and a minor chord is played, the first note is marked and it will be named La. So, when trying to distinguish minor/major chords, the answer is given away. My solution to this i...

Yes, it makes sense to use the most widely used system. But the system itself, makes no sense to me. The whole point for me, of using Movable Do, is that each tone serves one specific function within the key, and it would be easier for me if i.e. the tone one fifth above the tonic had the same name ...

Thanks for the response. That's exactly what I thought it would do. But my question was why it doesn't do that when a minor chord is played. When the triad of a major chord is played, the tones get named Do-Mi-So in EarMaster, as expected. When the triad of a minor chord is played, the tones get nam...

Can someone explain, about solfege relative
Hi
When tone naming is set to solfege relative, and chord identification is chosen, and a minor triad is played: Why is the second, and not the first tone in the triad Do? I don't know anything about this system, trying to learn it.

Sounds great! I'll check it. I haven't tried melody dictate yet, cause I thought it would be like an advanced level... too advanced for me anyway.... :) I think remembering tones by function is what I subconsciously did when playing guitar when I was a kid. But I never learned the do-re-mi-stuff, ca...

Hi I have somewhat the same problem, but I haven't used it so much, so I expect it to improve a lot. I can usually get near 100% on all intervals ascending, slightly less on harmonic and descending. Trying to figure out (or even guess at) real music without an intrument seems impossible to me, still...

Thank you! :) BTW, there is another issue which you might look at for the next update. On the norwegian version, training interval comparison, the wrong description of some of the stages appears on the screen. For instance, stage 18 trains minor/major third, harmonic, which in norwegian should be: &...

Stuck on minor/major third...
Hey While most of the exercises in the interval comparison are fairly easy to me, I seem completely stuck on hearing the difference between minor and major third intervals, when played simultaneously (step 18 ). Other intervals, and minor/major third melodic are easy. I think it's been about ten day...

It may be that most people are quite satisfied with the DLS synth sounds, but it's still far easier with the much more natural, fuller and less flat sounds of the soft sampler in Logic. I feel I learn quicker this way. BTW I found out that I don't need MIDI Patchbay, OS X has it's own built-in IAC-d...

Soft synth solution with Earmaster on Mac OS X
Hi On my Intel-mac with OS X 10.4.11, Earmaster 5 Pro tryout, recently downloaded, I have the following problem: The automatically selected Apple DLS Soft Synth does not sound very good, and the unnatural sound actually makes it harder for me to do the exrecises, because it does not sound very music...
