Hi all,
I have a question about EarMaster's rhythmic dictation exercises.
When examples are played, you only hear the drum attack and the hit dies immediately. This means a note followed by a rest and a note of longer duration sound the same so the notation is underdetermined by the sound played. For example, the following rhythms would correspond to the same played sound: 1) an 8th note followed by an 8th note rest and another 8th note, 2) a 4ter note followed by an 8th note.
Is there a way to change the settings to make the hits sustain and avoid this problem?

Hello,
Yes, this is a feature of EarMaster that you can train with rhythms with or without durations. To enable durations, you can open the Exercise Options panel to the right and activate the option "Evaluate note length".
