Hi,
I was just wondering if it's possible to increase the volume in EarMaster? I have to put the volume right up to hear intervals..
Just today, I finished some ear-training with my headphones & then decided to listen to an mp3 afterwards, not a good idea, as the volume must have been at least twice as loud - my ears are still recovering..
How to increase the volume?

Go to the EarMaster "Program settings" in the "Tools" menu. On the "MIDI devices" tab, you can set the volume for the EarMaster tones.
If this is not enough to balance the volume with the mp3 sounds, then you can open the Windows mixer. Choose "Run" from the Windows "Start" button menu. Type "sndvol32".
Here you can adjust the mastervolume and the volume for Wave/mp3 sound.

Hi Hans,
I've tried your suggestions, but it seems there is no way around the low volume in EarMaster. When I alter the settings via EarMaster's Tools menu, this seems to affect the Wave sound of my PC's mixer, which can also be accessed via run>sndvol32 (-this is also used for controlling the mp3 volume when listening to mp3s via WMP, coolplayer, etc)
Thus, changing the volume settings via EarMaster's Tools menu becomes a mute point, seeing as it effects the loudness of mp3s/Wave volume (accessed via run>sndvol32).
Just to clarify, the volume in EarMaster is only low when compared to listening to mp3s. It's not really a big deal > I just have to remember to never listen to an mp3 after ear training / make sure I lower the volume on my speaker/headphones before listening to mp3s
I know this seems a negative post, so I'll balance it by saying that I still think EarMaster is a great product, that I will recommend to all my musically-minded friends
Kind Regards, Moh

Thank you for your kind words
In EarMaster there are two different volume settings. One on the "Effects/microphone" tab which controls the volume of the sound effects, and on on the "MIDI devices" tab that controls the volume when playing questions.
If you say that the mp3/wave volume moves, then you might be using the first of them. You should use the MIDI volume slider in EarMaster.
