Range Check Error

I'm evaluating.

After running interval lessons for a while, I get an error message that says 'Range Check Error'. And I notice that the exercise answer doesn't display correctly. There's an example message at the top of the screen is 'Correct Answer: Major Third (wrong notation)'.

I installed this on a pretty new laptop with XP (less than a month old) that doesn't have a lot on it. I like the software and was planning to purchase it, but it's pretty flaky. Any ideas?
