Rhythm with keyboard is off a 16th note

I have a annoying problem with the rhythm part of the program.

I know its a 1-2-3-4 count

so on a 1--2 and - 3 - 4 type rhythm (i did a basic rhythm just to see if i was the one at fault)

even though i hit the beat almost perfectly its always late.

so i did a test.

Before i began I counted 1-2-3-4 e and uh
but I click on the 4th beat uh

and then the starting note shows on screen as beat 1.

So it is off by a 16th

I am using
-MS USB keyboard
-Win XP (with all updates)
-Newer Computer w/ (2 gig ram)
-3ghz AMD
-Onboard Audio (with latest drivers)

i am using the trial version and NEED this fixed cause i want to buy a program.

The problem is not the program, is in the midi synthesizer of your system.

In the options for the program, change the synthesizer under MIDI OUT option. If your system only has one, then use the delay compensation option, or buy a better sound card.

Like AcousticBruce I am trialing the program and have a time delay between tapping a beat and when the sound comes out. I have tried the options mention below but it has not solved the delay problem. Do you have a recommendation for a sound card?
I have been impressed with it so far and would like to buy it if I can get a fix for the time delay.
