Computer crashes

Post by Evan »

I have previously used Earmaster without any problems on this computer, but after a fresh install of Windows XP Earmaster no longer works. I downloaded it from the website but the computer crashes to the blue screen within 15 seconds of Earmaster being opened. I've tried uninstalling it and redownloading it a couple of times, but this does nothing. I have no other stability issues with this computer, only when opening Earmaster. Any idea what could be causing this, or what I can do to fix it?

Do you have any message with that? I don't have problems and a friend of mine, the school is using it and they never had any problems too

It's just a flash of the exception (with hex addresses and what not) for an instant before the computer turns off. From what I gather I think that it might be something to do with the video card and an infinite loop of waiting for a response. This certainly isn't something that I expect would come up in many cases, but I think that there might be some incompatibility between the software and the drivers for my video card. Has this problem ever come up before?

We have not had any reports like that before, but we would like to investigate this a little further.
Please send an email to the EarMaster support where you answer the questions below, then we can handle the trouble shooting a little easier. You can find the email address at the "About us" page at this website.

1) What build number are you using? It is shown in the about box and in the splash screen that is shown while loading EarMaster.

2) Please notice if the error happens when you do something specific. For example moving the mouse over a certain graphic element or clicking a button.

3) If you are able to write down the hex address then it will be a great help for us in tracking the error.

Best regards,

Earmaster causes computer to crash

Earmaster microphone setup causes a restart when Scope, the software driving my Creamware sound card, is launched. There is no compatibility between the two softwares.
Will you correct the bug soon?

I am not familiar with Scope, but my guess is that this problem is caused by Scope rather than by EarMaster. Maybe Scope monopolizes your microphone input or somehow have a bug that causes a restart when other programs try to get access to the microphone? Have you tried using Scope with other programs that have a microphone wizard or uses a microphone?
