play tunes

Hi Amyrich, I'm not sure what you ment by "tunes", but the only tunes you can play back in EM are those randomly created in Melodic dictation exercise. If you ment on tunes like "Old McDonland had a farm", or similar, sorry, it's not possible.

I can play back the answers from the interval identification so why not play back melodies where ear master plays the melody and you try to play it back. It's an exercise that is needed for one's exams so it is important....amyrich

play tunes back

Amyrich, I'm not sure how new to EarMaster you are, and whether you know all the exercises there are in it. There is an exercise in EarMaster (the last one actually), called "Melodic Dictation", and in it EarMaster plays some tunes that it creates on its own, and you are suppose to memorize them and play them back. That is probably what you need. If not, could you describe the exercise you need to do?

Melodic dictation

Post by amyrich »

In response to your reply in melodic dictation, that is the idea of it but I'm on lesson # 3 and it just plays the first note , not the whole tune so to speak. How if able can you jump ahead to get to the part where they play the tunes so I can practice to play it back.......amyrich

jumping ahead in Melodic Dictation

If I were you, Amyrich, I'd take my time. Unless you are absolutely sure you are that good in the first few lessons that you don't even need to do them, you can gladly advance without any more practice. But those first few lessons are important in establishing your sense of tonality and relations of tones to the root. Though it's fun to skip a few thing just for the sake of experiment. But it's not ok to skip lessons all the time, as it creates gaps in the forming of your ear...
