Using Earmaster as an administrator

Post by nancycornish »

Hello,
I've been using Earmaster in my aural theory classes for two and 1/2 years. We have previously been able to have a number of students use each computer, create their own user names and passwords, and do their own exercises. The scores were saved under their own accounts and I went around and checked scores every so often. Now we have the new Earmaster 5 educational edition. Each computer comes on in the name of the first person who used the program on that computer. Other names can be added under tools, user maintenance, but scores are still recorded either not at all or under the first person's name. This is very frustrating and I have lots of students trying to use this program. We need help right away!
Thanks,
NC

Hi,
Basically, what you need to do is to set up EarMaster so that all users are identified in the program according to their Windows login: Check both the Use Windows Login and Auto create unknown users when they log in boxes in Tools, Administration. Then all the students will be regognised by EarMaster from their Windows login.

The results have to be saved on the server, and you may have to specify the location in the same Administration tab.

In any case, try to verify if you have followed all the steps of our network installation tutorial, as it differs from that of EarMaster 4.

Please come back if this didn't help :-)
