How to define new chords?

Post by Belli »

Hi all,
I just bought a new instrument, which until today did not exist at all (look at www.skandola.de). Now I am creating new chord lists. Usually I just try and find out, what sounds good.
What I need now, is the possibility to find a chord at my fingerbord and transfer it to EarMaster, so the software may tell me in a fast way which chord I play. But how do I do this? Is Earmaster able to define new chords this way?
Greetings

You can't get EarMaster to recognize the chords from the tones you play, but you can easily add your own chords that way:

First, you have to define the tuning of your instrument:
  • Open EarMaster
Go to Answer Input, then String Tuning, and click on Custom...
Define the tuning of your instrument (number of strings, and tones)
Then, you can define your own chords by choosing the tones:
  • Select Customized Exercise in the Training Wizard (welcome Screen), and choose the Chord Identification exercise
In the pop-up window (exercise setup), click on the New Custom Chord icon, or go to Chords, then New Custom Chord...
Select the tones of your chord, and give it a name at the top of the window.
Well, that was it
