Scale Playback

Post by rickeyjt »

I want to learn scales by ear. Is there somewhere in earmaster that I can have it playback scales without quizzing me or making it a game or score keeping event.

Hi,
You can do that, and it's very easy.

Make a customized exercise with the scales of your choice, start the exercise, and right-click on the multiple-choice buttons at the bottom of the screen to hear each scales and see it on the staff, the guitar or the piano. :-)

Yes, this is nice. I like it autoplaying a new question.

1. However I would like it to keep the staff with the notes on screen so I can see and practice reading while playing too.

2. Is there a way to export the sound played to a midi file?

Nevermind on the display staff notes issue. I loaded the program onto my other notebook and the screen defaulted in a way to do what I want. It now shows the piano keyboard on the bottom which is great too.

Still would like to capture to midi, though.

Hi,
There is unfortunately no MIDI import or export function in EarMaster (yet?...).
However, it shouldn't be too hard to copy the tones of a scale on to a MIDI editor ;-)
But I also think MIDI import/export would be a great plus to EarMaster...
