Dictation can this program do this?

I have to say i have downloaded and tried many ear trainig progs.. this is by far the nicest.


Where are all the options for dictation?

I want to pick a key of c.
start on c
and only do Do re mi... then add fa sol la ti.. as i get better.

then later I would like to practice dorian
then maybe harmonic minor.

i didnt see a way to practice this. It plays these crazy chords then plays some other note...

I would like to turn off the chords and just start on C for now.

is this possible?

Hello,
You can set up the key in which the tones will be played, the number of tones to play and many other things in the melodic dictation exercise.
To access the set up, choose "Customized exercise" at the start of the program, then "Melodic dictation" and click begin. You will then enter the exercie set up and will be able to train with the specific elements of practice that suits you.

I mean like..

it displays on a staf notes.

then you sing them like... Do Fa la fa la sol re do

and either the computer listens to your voice... or you just check iit yourself.

i guess instead of dictation i meant sight singing.

No, you can't do that yet in EarMaster. The only reading exercise is the Rhythm reading exercise. A sight-reading exercise is very likely to be included in the next version of EarMaster as many, like you, have asked for it.
