i have been using ear master for about 4 months now, i useed it for 2 months everyday and then after that it was on and off and im sad about that because it has helped me a lot. now i am able to figure out or make my own music by ear. me and my friend make songs and i can figure them all out on the piano, i am becoming pretty good at producing wiith the help of ear master.
even though i have improved, i cant really say im really great because i still cant recognize notes and chords. even thugh i am in level 17 in melodic dictation and level 14 in chord indentification, i still cant recognize chords or notes when i hear them but i can be able to figure out chords and notes quickly on the piano. i dont know if im doing anything wrong but i want to kno what should i do??
i wanna be able to hear something and be able to know what chords or notes it is without using the piano.any help???
and does this program better you in reading music???
any
Earmaster has helped a lot

I've only been using earmaster pro for a short time but since no one has given any feedback I guess I'll try to answer your question. The way I see it is the more you practice listening the better you will be at recognizing notes/chords just from listening to them. I would say really hit the interval identification/singing and chord identification really hard, maybe a hour a day, and try to internalize the intervals and chords (in different inversions) . When I say internalize what I mean is an interval or chord should remind you of something or invoke a certain feeling, for example when I hear an ascending major second it makes me think of an old NWA song, a Major fifth sounds like music from the old Roman gladiator movies, an augment chord sounds like the music they played right before it went to commercial on the spiderman tv show (from the 80's), the dominate 7th chords makes me think of the music from the 50s ("I'm in the mood for love" and songs like that). When I hear a song in a mixolydian key it reminds me of the songs from the peanuts cartoons (Charlie Brown). It's best to internalize everything.
