Beginners Confusion

Post by iCliff54 »

Identifying Intervals, Question 6, Level 14, Minor and Major 2nd - descending. The Minor 2nd is shown as Gb to A. I am totally confused by this answer becasue a Minor 2nd should only be a 1 step movement and the Major 2nd is written as E# to F when thats supposed to be 2 a Whole Step Interval? Please explain. :-(

Hi Cliff,

Level 14 is "Unison, minor 2nd and minor 3rd - Descending".
I guess you are referring to another lesson.

I just tried it and got a minor 2nd to identify with Gb as starting tone a couple of times. Each time, the answer was Gb to F.

I went back to the lesson to see only to realize the Questions change so its impossible to check it. The lesson is from the Essentials program and deals with Minor and Major 2nd Descending Intevals. I do want to say that this is an amazing program and I am enjoying myself while learning so much. Thanks so much for answering my email. Cliff
