MIDI keyboard problem

earmaster pro5 - win 98
wanted to use my oxygen8 -
setup is usb in
sb live : midi out
but the keyboard is not recognized and not responsive

however the keyboard is recognized with the same setup
in earmaster4, cakewalk pro 9 and Finale 2004.

so how do we get this to work.
