I have A Mac laptop. I Everytime I try to use shortcuts, earmaster crashes. Shortcuts would make the dictation exercise a whole lot easier, but it won't happen. It crashes when I try to use the number shortcuts.
Thanks

What shortcuts are you using? I couldn't get the program to crash by using shortcuts.
On a Mac Book, there is no Numeric pad, so the available ones are listed under Add Intervals (Shift + number for ascending interval, and Command + number for descending interval).

Hello, thanks for the reply and sorry for my delayed response. No I was thinking more about the note lengthd - quaver, crotchet. I have to constantly go back and forth with the cursor in otder to change note values. Thanks

Oh, yes, I forgot to say that Shift + number does indeed crash the program, evertime I use it, as well. 8-|
The shortcuts for note length are only available from the NUM Pad (block of numbers to the right of the keyboard), which isn't included in the MB's keyboard. You can however move the note toolbar and have it placed next to the staff.
I have been testing the Mac version again and couldn't get it to crash. There are a couple of situations where the program may be unstable though:
1. If EarMaster has not been installed properly. Here are the guidelines for installation (quoted from our FAQ):
When you download EarMaster, you get an image file (white hard disk icon named EarMaster). When you double-click on that file, a pop-up window will show. You then have to drag the EarMaster icon over to the Applications Folder shortcut, following the arrow.
EarMaster will then be installed into your Applications folder. Once this is done, you can unmount the image file by clicking on the "Eject" icon next to it in the finder, and delete it or save it for later use.
EarMaster should only be started from your Applications folder or from the Dock. To place EarMaster on your Dock, simply drag the EarMaster icon from your Application folder to the Dock.
2. If your Mac hasn't been rebooted in a very long time. In that case, a simple reboot may solve the problem.
3. If permissions are broken. Go to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utilities and check the permissions. If some are broken, you should repair them and see if that helps.
I hope you will get your EarMaster back on foot again. Please let us know if those solutions make things better.
