special patterns not working?

Hi

Take a look at this:

As you can see, eight notes and 16th are mixed with each other ignoring what is specified on the special patterns configuration.

When EarMaster makes a rhythm it chooses among the notevalues and patterns you have selected. If the standalone 16th is selected then you tell EarMaster that the 16th note may be added alone, combined with other notevalues - no matter what other patterns of 16th notes you have selected.
If you only want the 16th note to appear only in groups of four, then just de-select the standalone 16th in the setup you show.

Ok, I thought that it was necessary to choose the note values, and then the patterns for those note values.
