Crashes after first question

Post by gettingthere »

After the first question is answered the program freezes every time and I have get into the task manager (ctrl, alt, delete) to get out and restart the program. It always reports "Earmaster not responding."

Also, not all the print is visible on my screen. Do I have to reset the type size to fit the software or does it adapt to the computer's settings?

I'm on Windows 7 home premium.
Thanks

Have you changed the fonts settings in Windows (size/type)? If you did, what settings have you selected so that we may try them out on our machine.

It's set on the "larger" display which is 150%.

I just tried that setting and it does not crash my system (Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit). Only the text is too big for some buttons, but that can be fixed in EarMaster's program settings (TOOLS menu) by changing the font size.

Have you installed the latest version? If you are using an older build, it might not work perfectly with Windows 7. To make sure you have the latest build, go to the HELP menu, and choose "Check for updates...".

- There are no newer versions.
- The font issue and crashing are not related. Sorry if I implied they are. The crashing is by far the primary problem and renders the program useless for now. Thanks

Could you please describe your setup in detail so that we may try to find out what may be going wrong?

(sound card, language setting, screen resolution, MIDI input device? Microphone plugged in? etc.).

We will then be able to run some tests with a similar settings as yours.

Thank you. This is almost identical to the setup I have, but I don't experience any problem with EarMaster.

Could you please send us a system log so that I may forward it to our developers?

To create a system log, click on the Windows icon, and right-click on Computer. Choose Manage.

In the ccomputer management window, go to System Tools --> Event Viewer --> Windows Logs --> Application.

Right click on Application and choose Create Custom View. Choose a period of time within which you know EarMaster has crashed (for example "last 12 hours") and click OK.

Once Windows has updated the list of event, save the log as an event file (from the right column: Save filtered events) and send it to support(at)earmaster.com.
