I bought EarMaster 6 today and have been using it for only 20 minutes. First it was hitting the "infinitely repeating tiny loop" error and crashing during interval comparison, so I increased the buffer and that problem seems to be gone. Now I've reopened the program and hit what seem to be two additional bugs, in rhythmic dictation:
First, sometimes instead of middle C there is a weird gong-like sound. When I hit "Play question" a second time I can hear middle C being played to a rhythm.
Secondly, in lesson six of module 1, I'm finding that I'm not allowed to use rests, despite the fact that rests are required in order to answer the question correctly. The rest button is grayed over, and when I press '0' (hotkey for rests) nothing happens. So I only have the option to enter a half note and leave the rest of the measure blank, when the correct answer is obviously a half rest and then a half note. Equally problematic is that on a prior question in lesson 6, the correct answer was a half note and a half rest, but when I entered a half note and left the rest of the measure blank, my answer was erroneously treated as a correct answer.
What's going on here? Anyone else experiencing this? I'm using Windows Vista on a laptop. Help!
*update* A half hour later and now it has crashed in chord identification, Module 5 Lesson 3.
Bugs in rhythmic dictation

Hi,
The rests not being available in Lesson 6 is definitely a bug. It will be fixed in the next update.
For the gong sound instead of middle C in Rhythmic Dictation, I am not sure what you are referring to, since the sounds used there are metronome sounds and a clap or piano sound.
Finally, did the crash in Chord Identification happen again at a later point? Have you noticed whether it was triggered by a specific action?

- Because in Music, We're All Ears... -
The sound I was hearing in Rhythmic Dictation was not a metronome, clap, or piano; one thing I did notice is that none of these problems arise on the second computer on which I activated EarMaster, which is a newer Mac.
Unfortunately I don't remember what triggered the crash in Chord Identification, but I'll get back to you. Thanks for the fast response.
