Hi
I would like to use earmaster to practice singing tonal degrees, that is, I want to hear a random cadence to set a random tonality, and then I want to be asked to sing some degree (sing a major 3th, a tritone, a minor seventh, or whatever), then another tonality and other degree, and so on.
Right now, this can be simulated with the following settings in interval singing:
Choose all ascending intervals from unison to major seventh
Choose Place interval root: Root of the key
Choose play tonic of the key: Cadence I- IV - V - I
There are two problems however, first, ear master will always play the root note as part of the question, whereas I want to be able to sing the degree just by having the sound of the key in my head. This can be fixed by pressing the "stop" button after the cadence, but it's pretty annoying as it has be done in every question.
Second, I want to practice this using both major a and minor keys, but ear master does not let you choose this and always plays a major cadence.
Is there any possibility that a couple of new settings are added to interval singing to be able to do this?
Thanks.

You can do this in the Melodic sight-singing activity:
* In the Activity setup, choose "Generated melodies" and set the number of tones to 1. Also enable the play tonic.
* In the exercise window go the the menu "Answer input" and enable "Note names", and eventually disable all other items if you don't want them.
* In the "Exercise settings" menu disable all of these settings: "Play lead-in", "Play first tone" and "Record answer with metronome".
EarMaster will now play a cadence and show a note name you should sing.
In the Exercise settings menu you can choose what tone naming to use: Solfege, scaledegree, ABC, etc
