MIDI Instruments only two choices

Post by weedszg »

My Earmaster pro 6.0 was working fine until yesterday I found the output of sound became piano instead of viollin I had set before. I tried to change it back from the preference settings but under the preset, there were only two choices, 0-Grand Piano and 1-Nylon Guitar. I don't know what happened. How can I change it back? It's a Mac version.

EarMaster is using the Fluid Synth to play sounds. The instruments it has like Guitar, or Piano are sound fonts, which can be downloaded on your computer. See for more information:

http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/fluids ... /SoundFont

An update on the Mac removes your program (and your sound fonts) and installs the latest program again. This lates update does not have so many sound fonts.
We are going to improve this: We will make sure that you only have to download your sound fonts once. Updates will not touch the sound fonts anymore that you already have.
This all means that you will get your instruments back in one of the updates that will come, and that you can install them yourself if you don't want to wait for this update.
