Re: electric bass
Hi,
Octave transposition goes by multiples of 12, so setting to 8 will not give good results. Also, notation transposition for guitar and bass is handled automatically by EarMaster when guitar or bass is selected as on-screen interface. To obtain good results when inputting notes with a bass, please follow the following steps:
1) Go to the Answer Input menu and select the tuning of your bass under "String tuning".
2) Open the Preferences of EarMaster, and under "General", set the primary profile to Strings. This will automatically set the notation transposition to -12.
3) Start the Microphone Calibration Tool from the TOOLS menu:
* Follow each step carefully, not moving on to the next before the settings are set properly.
* Check the "Optimize pitch detection for lower ranges" option at step 4.
I hope this will help. Have fun using EarMaster!
