Chord Progressions

Post by murrow »

I am seriously considering purchasing EarMaster as my trial is winding down, but was curious how to utilize the "chord progression" option. I am not sure what the question is and how to answer. I am in the very first module.

1) I first hear 2 individual note.
2) ...which is followed by 2 chords
3) Am I answering what the two chords are? If so, what do the first 2 notes mean?
4) If for example the question is: Major V - minor I How do I answer?

Hi,
Hi have already replied the email you sent us, but I am copying my answer here for the other users of the forum:

For the chord progressions, your task is to select a quality (Major, minor, 7, etc.) and then a scale degree (root tone, or simply the bass of the chords) for each chord. You can also simply use multiple-choice buttons.
This video, even if it was made with EarMaster 5, illustrates how the chord progression exercises can work using multiple-choice buttons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhAGFXdqTg8 .

In the staff, there will be one bar for each chord. To specify the quality and degree of each chord, click in the bar of the chord in order to move the input area (yellow-ish rectangle).
