BATCH EXPORT / IMPORT?
Just bought EarMaster School 5... Is it posible to simultaneously export and/or import all student data? I teach 15 to 20 students in my studio office. At the end of the day, I'd like to quickly transfer the day's data for all of my students from my office desktop to my laptop and head home.
STOP UNREQUESTED POP-UP HELP & THANK YOU SCREENS!
Is it possible to completely disable the automatic pop-up help screens that keep displaying themselves just after the start of each new user's session?
MASTER SETTING FOR ALL STUDENTS?
Is it possible to make a master exercise answer environment and have that be the default setting for all students.. current and new log-inners?
What an awesome program Hans! Thank you for developing this great tool! My students and I are really enjoying working with it!

1) It is not possible to export all users in one operation. There are however other solutions.
If your office computer has a stand-alone EarMaster installation (i.e. not a network installation), then you can choose to store the data files on a USB flash memory (pen drive). This way you always carry settings and results for all users with you.
No matter if you are at home or at the office, just plug-in the USB pen drive and you have everything up-to-date.
2) Every new user will get the help screens. But if they check the "Don't show this message again", then it will never come back for this user.
3) In the "User maintenance" window you can assign tutors and custom exercise setups to multiple users, but I am not sure if that is what you want?

Follow Up #1
Thanks for your kind reply and advice on my 3 questions. Please allow me to follow up.
Regarding question 3:
I want all users to have the same initial starting environment with these specific settings for all tutors that they might choose or be assigned:
Auto New Question @ Delay = 1 second
Auto Replay Question @ Delay = 5 seconds
I believe I found the answer in the Functions Tab of System Administration Window. (Save default program settings)
If I set the desired parameters then press “Save default program settings”, all current users and any new user who logs in later will have the same starting values of which they can later adjust if they so choose. Am I correct?
Regarding question 1:
Yes, that sounds like a great solution. However, even though my office desktop machine has USB architecture, my laptop does not. It is a slightly older portable.
Since I’ve been browsing through the threads on this forum and reading the EMS PDF Users Guide, I’m learning more about the program. Today I read, on page 39 of the Users Guide, that it is possible to “Copy (not move)” directories and folders!
How to move the data files: (from page 39 of the Users Guide)
1. Copy (not move) the "Shared" folder with all files and subdirectories from the current location to the new location. See the “EarMaster Folders and file types” section for a description of the default location of this directory
Would this work for me? Or would this cause the program to malfunction in anyway?
I was careful to make the directory paths identical on both machines:
(C:\Program Files\EarMaster School 5\Shared)
Can I simply copy the entire Shared folder from my office computer to a read/write CD then drag/overwrite the Shared folder on my laptop?
Your expert opinion and advice would be most valued and appreciated. Thanks again.
Kind regards.

About question 3:
When a new user is created in EarMaster the initial program settings are copied from the "Default program settings". So the "Save default program settings" button will only affect new users.
EarMaster has a much better approach to control the exercise settings. Instead of controling the general setting for a user to force "Auto new question" on everything this user does in EarMaster, you can have different settings for each lesson.
This means you can force e.g. the "Auto new question" to be active in some lessons/tutors, but let the user decide in other lessons.
You control all of these settings in the "Exercise control settings" window, which is available (only in EarMaster School) in the customized exercise setup and in the tutor editor. When you make a new tutor for your students, just choose which of the options in the "Answer input" menu and the "Exercise settings" menu that should be forced to a specific setting.
For example you can force the "Auto new question to a delay of 1 second, or you can force the staff to be visible or you can force the multiple choice option to be hidden (so the user has to answer note-by-note).
