Interval Singing and Rhythm Imitation

Post by bparham79 »

Hello Ear Master Pro Team,

I'm having two issues with the latest update:

Firstly, when performing the Interval Singing exercises, I can't input an answer because every time I sing an interval, the answer appears then immediately disappears from the screen. So after singing a note, the staff deletes both the starting note and the interval I sang. This problem renders the exercise completely useless.

Is there a workaround to this problem?

Secondly, the rhythm imitation is still glitchy. After receiving a score <90%, I now have the ability to replay a question, but the computer always picks up the first tap at beat #2 instead of beat #1, making it impossible to successfully redo the question.

Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi,
I am copying the reply I sent to the private message you wrote after posting here. I hope you won't mind. Just thinking others might be interested to read the reply :).

Hi,

The second tone of the interval (i.e. the one you have to sing) has to be held at a steady pitch for a couple of seconds. If the tone moves up or down by a half tone, then the "timer" is reset and you have to hold it for a couple of seconds again. If the tone hasn't been held long enough, then the staff will remain blank.

If you feel that the timer is set too long by default, you will be able to choose a shorter time in EarMaster's preferences under the Audio Tab. The value to change is "Auto insert after:".

As for the rhythm imitation exercise, or you tapping the rhythms on the space bar of the Mac's keyboard, or are you using a mic?
