Clapping not registred correct

Post by EØG »

I use the Earmaster Pro 6 teacher edition on a mac. I use earphones and the microphone signal seems to be fine - but when I try to clap in the rhythm exercise several things seem to go wrong:
- most of the time my claps don't seem to register
- sometimes there's a marking even before I start clapping. If so the marks (sometimes) continues from this point when I clap - even beyond the rhythm noted (all the way across the screen) till the metronome marking reaches the end
- the exercise starts immediately after the introductory measure

Is there something I can do to correct this?

Hi EllenG

It sounds like the mic sensitivity is too high. Try running the microphone calibration again (tools->microphone calibration). You should also make sure that you are on the latest version (help (or file)->check for updates).

I can't make any sound using my midi keyboard in Earmaster pro 6 (mac version). It's an m-audio keystation 49 and it is selected in the midi section in the preferences but still no sound goes out from it... It's really annoying that it doesn't work because I want to learn a bit of piano with Earmaster

Hi,

In the exercise, is the Midi-in icon in the right corner of the toolbar "pressed in". Like it is on?

You also might want to check your EarMaster midi settings. (tools->properties->midi devices), and make sure your settings are like this:

MIDI In: M-Audio Midi keyboard
MIDI Out: EarMaster Fluid R3 GM
