Exercises with real music

This is a feature that I would love to see in EarMaster, all that would be needed is an option to import MIDI files, and then you can use this music as melody dictate exercise, or as playing rhytm exercise (it would be only necessary to play the correct rhythm and duration regardless of the pitch of the different notes).

In case the MIDI file has multiple tracks, EarMaster asks you wich track do you want to work with. The others are played as well, so you can hear the music in context, but you only have to provide an answer for the track selected.

Do you ever practice to write down the real music you hear? It’s kind of hard because you can’t pause it or slow it down…

Bojan, you can find softwares that bring down the speed

Of course you can find software to slow down music, Waigin, but that's not my point. It is the challenge of the speed, doing everything in real time. Can you imagine a musician in a concert saying to his fellow player: Could you slow down a bit, i can't hear your improvisation?, or I can't follow you, slow down? It would be ridiculous. You gotta be able to recognise music at certain speed.

I agree with you. And to be able to do it in real time when it's fast, it takes time and we have to go slow and increase the speed until to the real time.
