Installing EarMaster on to new desktop; old one broken down
Hi there! I had installed EarMaster 5 on Windows Desktop. However the desktop can not be used as its motherboard has some problem and has now not been in use for couple of years. Following this I have installed EarMaster on my Laptop and i am using it. Recently I purchased an Imac for running logic pro. I tried to install the EarMaster on my Imac. However it does not work. I wish to install EarMaster on my Imac as it has a midi controller keyboard to input answers and also I could practice rhythm exercises. I am unable to use the rhythm exercise on my laptop because of the sound card problem. Please advise me how to resolve this problem. Thankyou.
Installing EarMaster on a Mac is extremely simple. Please follow the guidelines from the FAQ (see SUPPORT menu of our website): http://www.earmaster.com/support/faq.htm#mac_install . Make sure you are running OSX 10.4.11 or newer, as it won't run on older versions of the Mac OS.
The Mac sound cards have an almost nonexistent latency for MIDI playback. On windows, EarMaster offers a latency compensation tool, which enables even old computers to use the rhythm exercises without latency. Simply go to TOOLS>MIDI DEVICES>SYNCHRONIZE RHYTHMS and set the delay according to what you hear and see in the flash box. Start with 90ms, and then raise the delay until sound and picture match.
