voice not heard when in Interval Singing

Post by k leavy »

When I am in Interval Singing I have set up the microphone and it appears to be working but when I make a sound in answer to a question it doesn't register as an answer although I have the microphone selected as the means of communication

Any possible solutions?

Is the level meter next to the microphone icon (bottom right of the screen) moving when you sing tones. If it isn't,please make sure that the icon is toggled on. If it is toggled on but the meter is not moving, make sure that the physical input you are using to plug your mic into is selected as the default recording device in Windows/OSX.

Thanks for your reply.
Jut to confirm that the level meter next to the microphone icon (bottom right of the screen) IS moving when I sing tones. However the software fails to pick it up as an answer i.e. it ignores my singing despite the fact that teh level meter acknowledges that I am making a sound

When you are in the microphone tuning wizard (TOOLS menu) and set up your microphone to work with EarMaster, is it displaying the names of the tones you are singing (grey box at steps 3, 4 and 5) ? If the tones aren't displayed correctly during the set up, they won't be displayed in the exercises either. You should not leave the microphone tuning wizard until your settings enable the program to interpret the tones you sing.
