Midi In does not work (anymore) on MacOSX

Post by jivankohinoor »

Hi,
When I tried the free version, I was able to input notes from Kawai Piano with USB midi, it works fine.
Now, I bought the Pro version, and am note able to get Midi In anymore !
With the same machine & configuration
The USB driver is shown and recognized, Midi Out works fine.
But Midi in does not: the green light does not flash when I play, and the score is desperately empty of notes.
I will try with another midi keyboard next week.
Please help, do you have a clue of how I could trace the source of the problem and fix it ?
Thanks

Hi,

Please make sure that you have toggled on MIDI In as answer input by clicking on the MIDI icon (bottom right of the screen) or from the Answer Input menu.

Chords replies are no more recorded

Post by jivankohinoor »

Thanks
MIDI in input is selected "on"
I tried with another MIDI kbd, and the input works fine BUT

I do not understand how the application works !
Previously, when I worked on "Chord identification", with a keyboard (the one that does not work anymore), when I played notes, I was able to see the chord being built on the score, and the chord was recognized by the application, and its name was displayed.
Then my reply was recorded, and I could validate it.

Now, if I play notes, chords are not recorded, my reply contains only the first note played, and of course it is false.
The name of the chord that I played is no longer displayed.

I am lost, it seems like the application does not behave consistently over time.

I now have the PRO that I bought, previously I had the demo of Essentials.
Is this related ?

Please Help, the soft is useless for me at the moment

PS:
I am on a MacPro with plenty of RAM
My Kawai piano works fine with GarageBand, midi inputs are recorded.

Hi,
It seems to me that it is a matter of which options are currently selected in the program. Please review all the entries of the EXERCISE SETTINGS menu and activate/deactivate them according to how you would like to use the exercises.
Then, go to TOOLS/MIDI DEVICES and make sure that "One by one tone input" is not checked. Finally, under the Remote Control tab, select whether you would like to use some of your keyboard's keys as program function triggers instead of notes.
