hello,
just bought and installed Ear Master Pro 6 on my iMac (Snow Leopard), and using it with a MIDI guitar + Roland GI-20, for sight reading, using the melodic dictation.
everything works, but it seems that no note off is detected, so the played notes have infinite sustain...
To be more precise, it worked at first, but then in the configuration panel I set a soundfont in the "MIDI device" panel, and after that the "infinite sustain" happened.
The soundfont dropdown box was blank, but after selecting one, I wasn't able to go back to blank anymore...
Last thing:
earmaster says there is an update available, but when in the download page the download link point to http://www.earmaster.com/download/EarMaster_Pro_6.pkg
and the I get a "File not found" page...
thank you in advance, hope to hear some new soon
Enrico
missing midi note OFF?

a brief update:
1) i was referring to the sight reading exercise, not the melodic dictation.
2) after restarting the program, I discovered that the "infinite sustain" disappared when I set the MIDI IN transpose to any value, and then reset it to 0...
So there is a workaround, but some improvements could definitely be done
thank you

Hi Enrico,
In the newest update, there is a "Prevent hanging MIDI Notes" option in the Preferences, under MIDI Devices. That should solve the problem you are describing.
I have notified our webmaster that the link of the "Check for Updates" is broken, thank for pointing that one out. Until then, you can simply download the latest update via the regular download page: www.earmaster.com/download/
