I have my students working through a Tutor I modified and I grade them on the lessons they have completed. Can these students cheat on their results? Or can they alter their results before they send me their file? I've gotten a couple of notices from EarMaster that say that items marked in red could be the result of a student altering their results before they send them to me. If they are cheating, is there a way to either stop the cheating or can I find out what exercise they are cheating on? Thanks for any thoughts

Hi,
The students can't modify the results before sending them to you. If they somehow manage to hack the file and change the numbers (which is highly unlikely to happen), you will be automatically warned by EarMaster School which will highlight the hacked results in red.
There is one way students might cheat though, but it applies to any other type of homework (handwritten or done on a computer): if they get someone else to complete the assignments for them

Is it the total percentage result that is marked in red or the lesson itself? Many of the lessons are red with the results in green, although I've seen some 50% results marked in red (maybe orange?).
And yes I agree that someone else can do their homework for them, but I'll know when it comes to test time if they have the skill or not. Thanks again for your help

Hi David,
If the results have been manipulated, then the lesson titles should appear in red .
The % values have color codes (one of which is red) but that's something else. The coding for the results is:
Red: insufficient
Orange: Average/below average
Green: Satisfactory
