easy acces to modify a melody in the database

Post by berebe »

Hi

I'm using EarMaster's sight singing exercise to practice the exercises from a book. I have entered lots of exercises in the melody database, and with the current options is impossible to keep managing it.

Consider this, Earmaster chooses a random melody from the database as a question, and for whatever reason, I want to change that melody (maybe I made a mistake choosing major/minor and the wrong cadence is played at the begining). EarMaster does not show anywhere the name of the melody, and I have so many that is impossible to remember the name for all of them, so now I have to manually browse a lot of melodies one by one until i find the one that I want to change.

If Earmaster shows the name of the melody that has choosed, things would be a bit more easy, but I would still have some trouble looking through a very long list of melodies with very close names ("Lesson 1 exercise 5", "Lesson 2 exercise 6", etc..). I know that they are shown in alphabetical order, but I have lots of them and is still hard to find something.

So I would like to request the following: A button in the main Window, sort of "edit this question". Once EarMaster has choosen a melody, this button would take you to edit the current melody beeing asked without having to find it in the database.

Please consider this request, it may not seem to be very useful for a short list of songs, but once the database has grown to a very large number, something like that is neeeded.

Thanks

Thank you for the suggestion. We might need to extend the search functionality in the future, so input is welcome.
You can also use the "categories" to organize the songs.
