Playing heard melodies with a midi keyb.

Post by Kay »

hello,

i've downloaded the demo of EarMaster Pro, i still like the program, but there is one thing that i am mulling over. When i'm doing this melody lessons, the melody is being played by the program and i have to write down the notes...
...
So I've read, it's also possible to play the notes on a midi keyboard, the keyboard ist still working, but in this melody lesson, when i play the keyboard, it's allready recording the notes...can i turn this off? - i would like to try to play it to find the keys first and after that to record the notes....Cause, it is wasted time, first to try to play, and then to erase every single note by hand with clicking on the mouse and that a dozen times as novice.

I would be very grateful for support!

Just hit F11 on your PC-keyboard to activate/de-activate the MIDI in. This allows you to play the tones without recording them.

That doesn't work, cause when i hit F11 I don't hear any tones. As midi out I have chosen "microsoft midi mapper" and "Microsoft gs wavetable sw synth"...with both it's the same...

If you stop MIDI-in, EarMaster will of course not play the tones any longer. There is no function in EarMaster that allows you to play the instruments without the tones are recorded by EarMaster. We will consider that for the next version of EarMaster.
