No metronome in rhythmic sight-reading

Is it possible to do the rhythmic sight-reading exercises without the metronome playing? That is the metronome would only be active for the 1-bar lead in but silent when you are answering the question.

There is a “play metronome during question” option, but it does not seem to do anything for me (iPad/iPhone current version).
