Identify the key with the cadence and a fixed note

Post by bebopluvr »

Is there a way to:

play a cadence (major or minor)
play a known note (e.g., "C")
then identify the key based on the tonal quality of C in that key?

For example, if I play a major cadence, play C, and C sounds like the minor 6th against the cadence, I'd choose Eb major as the key.

Can I do that in Ear Master?

TIA

Hi, sorry for not replying right away, it's vacation time at EarMaster, so we're a bit under-staffed these weeks.
You guessed correctly, it's not possible to do that in EarMaster at this point, but it should be possible to set something up along these lines in the future thanks to a planned quiz feature.
