The fourth degree of Gb major, and tritones

Post by bm »

I have found the dual score and keyboard layout to be helpful with many of the exercises.
However, I think it is a shame that the fourth degree of Gb major is often incorrectly referred to as 'B' when (of course) it is Cb. Similarly, the notes reported for a tritone often do not accurately represent the scale degree (on the Interval Identification exercise, especially).
Could someone please correct the program's operation for Gb major please?
I also think it would be better if we could have the option of replacing the 'Diminished Fifth' button with 'Tritone' and just working with the scale degrees, rather than having enharmonic equivalents (presumably due to ease of programming).
Thank you for giving this post your attention.

For your question on tritones, please see the following post: http://www.earmaster.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=845

Scale degrees are also discussed there :-)

Thank you for your reply, Quentin. I've read the thread to which you referred me: I would still prefer to have the option of a 'Tritone' button for interval recognition, and to have the option for EarMaster to refer to the fourth degree of the Gb major scale as Cb rather than B (which is, of course, the Augmented Third above Gb).
