Mac-version bugs: Range check error++

Post by arieldf »

Hi!

I recently bought EarMaster Pro for Mac after using it on a Windows computer for a long time. It is a great product!

I use it primarily in company with my Yamaha Clavinova CVP-305 as a MIDI input. I have severe problems with unexpected quits when inputting notes.

Sometimes EarMaster quits with no error message at all (not even from the system) and sometimes also with a dialog box stating:
--------
1.
Error converting MIDI in data
Range check error

and
2.
Divide by zero
--------

I have the most recent USB-driver installed. I have also tried using another Mac, but the same occurs. It works seamlessly on Windows.

Please look into this as this makes it useless for me to use it on a Mac.

I appreciate a response!

Thanks
Ariel

Hi,

We've looked into this problem, and found the cause - this happens when Mac's own CoreMIDI sends two or more MIDI packages to EarMaster with the exact same time stamp in a package list. A call to CoreMIDI should split the list into packages, but that call never gets through and thus calculates a wrong size for each package.

An update with a fix to this problem will be available in a few days. Check for updates through EarMaster's help menu.

Best regards,
