Midi-out and IAC Driver (Mac)

Post by arieldf »

Hi!

For a long time I have been wanting to use my NI Akoustik Piano (software) with my copy of EarMaster Pro since the sound is so much better. But I have found no way to make the two programs communicate.

However, today I discovered something very exciting. In the utility, Audio MIDI Setup, I activated the so-called IAC Driver. This driver shows up in EarMaster and I managed to make a link between NI Akoustik Piano and EarMaster very easily. I am very pleased with this result, but there is a problem with the audio when I am testing the link (sound sample is given below). The same "glitch" occurs when I try out the exercises.

Could this problem be in EarMaster? I would have been very happy in you could look into this for me! Is there any other solution I might use instead of the experiment above? I have found a solution for Windows in the forum, but not for Mac.

I hope for a quick reply.

Kind regards
Ariel

Midi-out and IAC Driver (Mac)

I found a solution that works! I load the AU for Akoustik Piano in Garage Band and using the IAC Driver now goes smoothly.

I now have my wonderful NI Akoustik Piano working in EarMaster!:-)

This solution is fine for me, but it would be nice to not have to go through Garage Band.

Thanks! I'm so happy!

Hi Ariel,

I'm glad it worked out for you. The current version of EarMaster for MAC does not support external sounds or devices, except if it's provided through Mac OS X audio and MIDI services.

We will work on this area for the next generation of EarMaster ;-)

Best regards,
Normann
