Rythmic Exercises - Microphone Latency

I wanted for so long to buy Earmaster 7 and the moment i got it and tryed to play 10 minutes with it, i got only mad.

I just want to do a simple Rythmic Exercise using either my Microphone or my Midi Keyboard.
Both have delay, no matter what i do. Please don't tell me to change the Latency from Other Options. Not working. I have tryed to manually adjust it for so many hours and after i got some results, i decided to change the Tempo of the exercise. Boom. Everything is wrong again.
Not even close to what i play. I can't even do simple Rythmic Patterns like 4 quarter notes in a bar, no matter what the rythm is.

The settings are beeing reseted each time i restart the program and i have to do these again aswell.

What am i supposed to do if i want to adjust the tempo on a exersice ? Trying to find the best latency for that tempo each time?
What about the settings? I have to keep notes of all the settings for latency for each tempo i want to practice and change them everytime?

What about the midi keyboard? I used 4 different midi keyboard to test the dealy. There must be no delay because i am using and external sound card. ( Ofc i used 2 more sound cards just in case it is my problem. ).

Can all these be fixed? Or else how do i get a refund.

Hi,

Latency should be acceptable even on slow devices, so perhaps something is not working as expected. Can you please send a video of the problem to support@earmaster.com so that we try to identify the possible cause of the problem.

Also in your email, can you please answer these few questions:

1. What screen resolution are you using?
2. Are you using a Bluetooth headset?
3. Are there resource-intensive programs running while you use EarMaster?

As for the tempo problem, it's not a bug, it's a feature The tempo is a full part of the progression of the courses. For example some lessons will use a selection of note values at 80 BPM first, then in the next lesson the exercise will be sped up to 110 BPM, etc.

IN order to train at any tempo you want,the preferred way is to use the "Customized Exercise" training mode where you can take control of the exercise and set them up yourself.

I will answer your questions because i really don't understand.

Q1. What screen resolution are you using?
A1. 1920x1080 but why does this matter?

Q2. Are you using a Bluetooth headset?
A2. I am telling you i am using an external sound card. Really? Nothing works not even my midi keyboard. (3 different midi keyboards)

Q3. Are there resource-intensive programs running while you use EarMaster?
A3. No.

Thank you for your answers. I was expecting them in an email with a video though, as that might give us hints as to what might be causing the latency.

1) Yes it sounds out of place, but your screen resolution might have consequences on the performance of the software in some extreme cases (which is not the case here)

2) Using an external soundcard for the MIDI connection doesn't necessarily mean that you are also using it for audio recording and playback so that's why I was asking that. Bluetooth devices imply a huge latency for audio.

3) Ok, then we can cross that from our list of possible causes.

A possible solution would be to open the exercise options (list-shaped icon at the top right of the screen) and activate "Silent Input". Then it is likely that latency will be gone, as there is a good chance that the culprit is audio playback and not MIDI In.
