Bug: Rhythmic Dictation on iPad locks tools and can’t proceed

I will be doing a transcription then at some point in going back and forth between notes/rests/ties I can’t select any of the tools anymore. Everything is grayed out except the “X” that erases your whole answer so far and, to add insult to injury, when you select that, it doesn’t even ungrey the tools once your work-in-progress has been erased so there’s nothing you can do except abandon the lesson/test and lose your progress. Because of this I’m stuck on beginner test 22.7 Rhythmic Dictation Mastery with no way to advance past it.

After playing with it for a bit it seems like it’s the tie tool specifically that’s making everything else gray out. So after tieing two notes together, say in measure one of a two-bar phrase, you can’t do anything more.

The Tie tool is a toggle. You can tap it again to deactivate it.
