How to sing notes

Hello. I am confused to what word/letter to sing when doing EarTraining And I do not seem to be consistent.
What letters or words is good practice when singing notes. I must have missed something because I find it strange that this is not mentioned in the training.

Should I go with do re mi fa...or is there something better. And what do I sing for the black keys on piano and for higher and lower notes.

Hi, this is actually what you learn in EarMaster's Beginner's Course, in Interval Singing and in Melodic Sight-Singing. Just make sure to read the introduction to each lesson (the screen shown before the actual exercise starts), because this is where you will find valuable instructions about the curent topic, and ips on how to proceed with the exercise.

Sorry but that's not true. This program doesn't teach me how to sing those note it expects me to know how to do it. I'm on 2.2 Pitch Matching: One note and the only instructions are that I'm supposed to reproduce this tone with my voice, yeah cool, but how? The sound is played on the piano should I then do an onomatopoeia of that piano sound or what?

Just produce a sound in any way you want, only pitch without tonal context is in focus there. You don't need solfege to echo a sound.

Solfege is introduced together with the notion of Major scale and tonal contexts a few lessons later.

is not that obvious for beginners, you expect me to be able to reproduce sounds in the G-Clef which is physically impossible for me, the highest I can go is A4 (but I feel a real physical discomfort while doing this), I don't have trouble while reproducing sounds from the lowest three string of a guitar but when your app asks me to reproduce sounds from the G-Clef it's virtually impossible for me, I know it transposes automatically but it simply doesnt't help. I'm sorry for this rant but I'm so disappointed with this application...

I'm sorry that you are disappointed by these lessons. It's just hard for me to see this issue as a complete show stopper like you do. Maybe I'm just too used to the way the software works.

How do you sing songs that you hear on the radio, TV, etc. that are in a completely voice range than yours? Don't you just hum it in your own voice range? It's exactly this kind of exercise that the pitch matching exercises of the Beginner's Course intend to do: Having you sing back tones without worrying about voice range, clef, theory, etc.

You keep asking that. How do I sing back piccolo notes? How do I adjust singing a commercial jingle that's outside my range? The answer is I DON'T.

And my entire interest is in developing a better ear. I couldn't care less about clefs and reading music. I just want to hear better.

Try to understand what some of your customers want to get out of this product rather than what you think we should want to get out of it.
