EarMaster on Flash Drive (SanDisk U3)
I can't seem to find any topics or messages regarding EarMaster's compatibility with a SanDisk Cruzer USB Flash Drive. I've tried installing it on the drive and it seems to run smoothly, but when i then try and run it on a different computer a number of errors regarding file locations being unavailable will pop up. The program seems to still run, but the errors concern me and I'd rather it worked properly. Any suggestions? Thanks!
installing EarMaster on USB disk
Hi SntaCruz83,
as far as I know, USB disk is just a place to store installation data (.exe files, tutors and .dlls), just as hard disk is. But, it does not have it's own OS, nor a registry, which is also essential when executing a program. This is were your serial number is kept, and all the instruction regarding the program execution. So, if you can't find a way to copy your entire HDD onto flash disk (or at least all data that EarMaster needs, including the Windows registry), I'm afraid you can't use EM that way, sorry...
That's why you need to buy separate licenses for all computers you use EarMaster on.

With the U3 software included on this particular flash disk, you're actually able to run programs directly from the disk without installing anything on the computer. Granted, these programs (such as Trillian, Skype, Firefox, etc.) have been modified to work with the U3 programming.
There are cases where people have successfully made modifications to enable these drives to play any software that fits (which i'm hoping will include EarMaster5).
I was hoping someone may have had experience with this...i'll keep workin on it. Thanks for the reply!

run from usb stick
Wow, that's great! I hope you'll make it. I'm only not sure whether you're violating copyright law (one license - one computer). But you can always say that the usb stick IS your computer, right?
