unison interval problem in lesson 2.5

Just getting started trying out this software an it appears that I am stumped on trying to use a midi keyboard to play unison interval answers in lesson 2.5. The software is able to detect any other interval or two note melody, but when the correct answer is a unison interval, it only produces the first note. I am unable to play the same note twice and produce a correct answer. I can't seem to articulate my question in any way that turns up a quick answer. Am I doing something wrong?
