Require correct octave identification in answer

Post by Dommedagsprofet »

Hi,

I seem to remember that in previous versions of EarMaster, you could require the answer to be in the correct octave.

However, I can't find that option in EarMaster 7. Is there something I've overlooked, or has that feature been removed in this version?

Hi,

You're right, this was possible in EarMaster 5 and 6, but in EarMaster, you can answer in any octave. If you would like to suggest to our development team that they add absolute answers to version 7, you can either let me know here, or reach out directly to the lead developer at feedback@earmaster.com

I am having a big problem with version 7. If I sing a note in the wrong octave it still scores it as correct.
But in version 6, if I sung a note in the wrong octave it scored it as wrong.
This is a big problem, because, especially when I am tired, I sometimes sing notes in the wrong octave. This is a mistake and should be shown as such, as it was in version 6. But this limitation in version 7 renders it unfit for purpose, which is to show identify the correct notes sung.
I do not understand why version 7 does not work correctly in this regard, when version 6 worked perfectly and was a joy to use.
