Error Message

Post by Down Under Boy »

Hi

I am trying to use the demo version of Earmaster to determine if the program is right for me.

When I loaded it on my system, and start the program I get the following message

"MixGetLineInfo3(11) An invalid parameter was passed to a system function"

The program then loads up but you cannot hear anything.

All my other midi programs, cubase, halion, reason, etc are working fine and the driver for my soundcard, (Steinberg MI4) appears to be fine as well.

I would really like to try the program and am reluctant to buy the full version if this will present these problems.

Please could you offer my any advice.

This error happens if EarMaster could not control the volume of the sound effects. It should not affect the MIDI sounds at all.

Have you chosen the correct MIDI output device in the EarMaster Program settings?

thanks very much for your response

Yes I have definitely located the correct driver for my soundcard from inside the Earsmaster settings.

Still cant hear the "questions" being played or the metronome click.

Today we have uploaded an updated edition of EarMaster with several improvements. It should also handle your situation with the mixer error in a better way. Please use the "Check for update" function in EarMaster to get the new version.

If your problem is still there, then please contact support directly (find the email here).

Best regards,

Hi,
Did you select your soundcard as MIDI output in EarMaster?
If you did and it still doesn't work, could you tell us what soundcard you are trying to use (and whether it's PCI, USB, Firewire, etc).
Please write to our support address (see link above).
Thanks
